Margot Vigeant ‘94

Margot Vigeant (B.S. ChE ‘94) is an Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering at Bucknell University where she has been teaching since 1999.

Vigeant describes her experiences while a student at Cornell as diverse and well-rounded. She participated in AIChE, SWE, and the Cornell Herpetological Society, worked on Cornell Engineering Magazine, and also performed in two Risley Theatre Shakespeare productions. Before joining the Bucknell faculty, Vigeant completed her M.S. and Ph.D. at the University of Virginia.

She is currently engaged in research with faculty at SUNY Albany, attempting to develop a finite-element model for glucose diffusion in the brain. Vigeant is also passionate about developing new methods of facilitating learning among engineering students. She is currently developing modules that enhance conceptual understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer.
