CBE PhD candidate, James Stevenson, of the Clancy group is the winner of the 2015 AIChE CoMSEF conference presentation award.

This award "recognizes excellence and rewards significant contributions in research." COMSEF is AIChE's Computational Materials Science and Engineering Forum and is the "home" for considerable molecular simulation research by the AIChE community.  Stevenson's award is related to his research on the self-assembly of novel liposome-like vesicles customized to the harsh conditions on Saturn's moon, Titan (Science Advances 2015; Icarus 2015) and the nucleation (another manifestation of assembly) of lead chalcogenide quantum dots. Stevenson will present his work at AIChE's annual meeting in Salt Lake City in November 2015, and at the Cassini Project Group Science Group annual meeting in June 2015 in Pasadena CA.
