ChemE Car Team wins at regional AIChE competition
The Cornell ChemE Car Team placed in two divisions at the Regional AIChE Competition in Storrs, Conn. April 5. The team's battery-powered car took first place and its fuel cell-powered car took second.
The Chem-E-Car competition is a fun and educational way to apply practical engineering knowledge. Students design, build, and operate a small vehicle powered and controlled by chemical reactions. The competition fosters teamwork among students and enables them to test their innovative ideas in developing greener fuels and power sources.
Regional winners earn the opportunity to compete on the national stage at the annual professional meeting, which will be held in Atlanta in Fall 2014.
