Dr. Kathleen Vaeth earned her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, where she was a Kodak Fellow, and her Masters and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she was a Hertz Fellow. Prior to joining Cornell, she was the Vice President of Engineering at microGen Systems, developing MEMS vibrational energy harvesters for powering wireless sensor networks used to monitor commercial and industrial equipment. Dr. Vaeth also worked 12 years in the research labs at Eastman Kodak as a Senior Research Scientist and Project Leader, where she developed technologies for the inkjet, organic light emitting diode (OLED), and printed electronics markets. Her research interests span the design, fabrication and characterization of thin film devices, relating their performance to the materials used in their construction. Dr. Vaeth has over 20 publications, 30 U.S. patents, and has given numerous invited lectures and talks.
