Two ACS journal covers feature energy and manufacturing research from You group
Research articles on energy and manufacturing topics from the research group directed by Prof. Fengqi You, Roxanne E. and Michael J. Zak Professor at the Smith School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, were recently featured on the covers of two American Chemical Society (ACS) journals.
The first article, titled “Comparative Techno-Economic and Environmental Analysis of Ethylene and Propylene Manufacturing from Wet Shale Gas and Naphtha” (DOI: 10.1021/acs.iecr.7b00354), was featured on the cover of May 2017 issue of Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research. As shale gas is reshaping the US chemical and manufacturing industries, the article systematically studies the economic and environmental implications of producing building-block chemicals from the emerging and traditional manufacturing routes. This invited contribution is part of the journal’s “2017 Class of Influential Researchers” program.
The other article focuses on energy systems design with pollution trading and forest plantations (DOI: 10.1021/acssuschemeng.6b02928). It was selected to feature on the cover of March 2017 issue of ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, a high-impact journal published by ACS on sustainability and green chemistry.
