Michael Vilkhovoy and Rachel LeCover (Varner Research Group) receive respective awards
Michael Vilkhovoy will be joining the drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics department at Vertex Pharmaceuticals (Boston, Massachusetts) for a summer internship to develop pharmacologically relevant disease models to help with efficacy assessment and predictions of target compounds.
Michael Vilkhovoy was awarded top poster at the IET SynbiCITE Engineering Biology conference in in December 2015 (London, UK). Michael presented his work on first-principles sequence specific modeling of in-vitro transcription and translation systems for next generation manufacturing of glycoproteins.
Rachel LeCover won a highly competitive parallel computing research internship at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
The Parallel Computing Summer Research Internship is an intense 10 week program aimed at providing students with a solid foundation in modern high performance computing (HPC) topics integrated with research on real problems encountered in large-scale scientific codes. This is a a highly selective program, with only one in ten applicants accepted. During the program, students receive training on modern topics in high performance computing and software development while working on cutting edge HPC hardware.
