My research laboratory seeks a quantitative understanding of dynamic processes in living systems at the molecular and cellular scales, in particular through their interactions with fluids, using engineering, biological and computational approaches. The current focus of my research lab is on elucidating fundamental mechanisms by which cells alter their motility to external stimuli. An equally important thrust of our research is to develop cell-based microfluidic as well as imaging technologies using mechanistic insights gained in studying living systems.
