Research Focus The Varner laboratory in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Cornell University works at the intersection of Systems Biology and molecular medicine. We develop new therapies and strategies for the treatment of cancers and cardiovascular disorders that maximize efficacy and minimize side effects. We are primarily focused on controlling Breast and Prostate cancer proliferation but also have projects in collaboration with Weill-Cornell Medical College (WCMC) to study Thyroid and Breast cancer and septic shock. In addition, we are exploring problems in therapeutic protein design, expression and recovery.
