Professor Anton’s research investigates the mechanisms, kinetics, and thermodynamics of chemical reactions that occur at interfaces between fluid and solid phases. His principal focus currently is the conversion of cellulosic biomass into fermentable sugars.

Professor Anton has taught a broad range of undergraduate- and graduate-level courses to chemical engineering students, including physical chemistry, classical thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, chemical separations, process dynamics and control, electronic materials processing, chemical process design, statistical thermodynamics, and applied mathematics.

He is also the faculty co-advisor for the nine-time world champion Cornell Formula SAE Racing Team, a Faculty Fellow at Cornell's chapter of Delta Phi fraternity, and Faculty Advisor at Cornell's chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
