Lynden Archer reappointed to the Marjorie Hart Chair in Chemical Engineering.

October 24, 2008

The Board of Trustees has reappointed Professor Lynden Archer to the Marjorie Hart Chair of Chemical Engineering.  Archer's leadership in the area of polymeric materials led to the formation this year of a $25M KAUST Center at Cornell that focuses on energy-related issues.    Lynden is an internationally recognized leader in the field of rheology, the study of flow and deformation of complex fluids.

Despite his involvement with research and running a large group of graduate students, Lynden also found time to excel as an instructor:  For his superb teaching of undergraduate Fluid Mechanics, Lynden was awarded a College of Engineering Teaching award in 2008.
