Matt DeLisa delivered the Annual Allan Colburn Lecture in Chemical Engineering at University of Delaware.
April 28, 2009Assistant Professor Matthew P. DeLisa was the 2009 Annual Allan Colburn Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at the University of Delaware. This prestigious named lectureship recognizes "young faculty or engineers who best exemplify Allan Colburn's scholarly abilities on pragmatic as well as theoretical problems and his interest in all humanity." Colburn was the chair of the ChE department at Delaware and later Provost there. Matt DeLisa's Colburn lecture was entitled: “Manipulating Quality Control Mechanisms in Bacteria for Pre-clinical Development of Protein Therapeutics.” Matt’s research focuses on understanding and controlling the molecular mechanisms underlying protein biogenesis in cells, including folding and assembly, membrane translocation and post-translational modifications.
