Peter Wright delivered the 2009 Raymond G. Thorpe Lecture

Peter Wright, B.S. Ch.E. ’75, delivered the 2009 Raymond G. Thorpe lecture in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Cornell University on Monday, November 2, 2009. His talk “Engineering, a Great Background for the Hedge Fund and Financial Services Industries,” was given at 4:30 PM in 165 Olin Hall. Mr. Wright has over 25 years of experience in the securities industry. He established P.A.W. Partners in December of 1990. As the General Partner and Portfolio Manager, he is responsible for the management of the firm and the hedge fund.


The lecture is given in honor of Raymond G. Thorpe, who retired in 1989 after thirty-nine years on the faculty. An outstanding and dedicated teacher, Thorpe twice received the College of Engineering’s Excellence in Teaching Award and was selected by each of the first four Presidential Scholars from chemical engineering as the faculty member who most influenced them during their careers at Cornell.
