Richard P. Eno, CFA, is the Chief Executive Officer, and a Board member, at BioAmber Inc. (BIOA: NYSE/TSX). BioAmber is commercializing a family of renewable materials and chemicals which offer a far more sustainable footprint than traditional fossil-based materials. The company's first product, bio-succinic acid, is currently being produced at commercial scale and offers a 60% reduction in energy versus petroleum alternatives as well as a carbon neutral footprint.
From 2008 to 2014, Mr. Eno served as President, CEO and Board member of Metabolix, an industrial biotechnology company commercializing a family of bio-based biodegradable polymers and renewable chemicals. He led the transition of the company from research stage into commercial operations developing over 100 customers around the world. Metabolix products offer a range of sustainable solutions to the performance materials industry.
In addition to his experience leading innovative companies, Mr. Eno has spent over 15 years in management consulting focused on chemicals and energy. In this capacity, Mr Eno has advised clients around the world on critical business strategy, operational, organizational and technology issues. His clients included several of the largest companies in the world. He began his career at Chevron Corporation where he had a range of experiences in new technology development, engineering, operations and construction management.
Mr. Eno has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, a MBA from the University of Houston and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). In addition to his role at the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, he is a member of the Alumni Advisory Board for Cornell's Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future. He is on the President's Council for Ceres, the sustainable investor network, and a Trustee for the Winchester Community School of Music. Mr. Eno is also an active mentor to early stage clean technology companies.
